Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his distinctive style. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's given title is Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing piano in the church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. In 2005, she became the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine came to national attention during four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
